Hearing Loss & Tinnitus
The leading cause of Hearing Loss and Tinnitus is Noise. Our Military personnel are exposed to noise of all types – from gunfire, tanks, blasts, generators, to name a few sources – on a daily basis, many times without any hearing protection.
Currently there are over 3 million veterans receiving compensation for hearing loss or tinnitus. . Many veterans with noise exposure may have normal hearing levels, but have difficulty understanding speech, especially in environments where there is background noise.
